So now I am trying to get out of it. Haven't read the books. Don't want to. Sarah- great point. I love a lot of cheesy stuff, but your have an excellent point of knowing and stating why you like it despite it not being the 'smartest' thing written. I don't think of myself as extremely well-read (sadly), but I, too, feel bad when people think that Twighlight is a fantastic, well-written read. I respect the success she created, but other than that, I am trying to avoid the hype.Query-A-Dayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06403531785846541267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2732821463555100812.post-72083764387140497902009-11-21T13:21:25.984-05:002009-11-21T13:21:25.984-05:00Ah, but Jeff, therein lies the difference. I'll be the first one to tell you.

If Twilight fans were fully aware of their love for this low-quality entertainment and were educated enough to say "You know, this book/movie is really bad but damn I love it," (and there are a few fans out there who fall into this category) it wouldn't bother me so much.

If you like something that sucks, so what? Just be smart enough to know the difference between great literature and sloppy pop fiction. That's not so difficult, is it?Sarahnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2732821463555100812.post-80388580212414689852009-11-21T09:50:49.761-05:002009-11-21T09:50:49.761-05:00That said, you're fighting the good fight here...That said, you're fighting the good fight here.Jeffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2732821463555100812.post-60050619664819414412009-11-21T09:49:08.620-05:002009-11-21T09:49:08.620-05:00I sense that you're calling me out for not sav...I sense that you're calling me out for not savaging this. Well, Cory, that would require me to see the movie, which is not something I'm prepared to do. I could savage the hell out of New Moon, just like I did with the last one, but I no longer believe that riling up haters is fulfilling.

Am I offended that this managed to out-box-office The Dark Knight? More like disappointed.

I don't like the books, or the movies, but I'd be a hypocrite to shit all over them while expecting others to not tell me how shitty the shitty stuff that I like is.Jeffhttp://www.jeffersonstolarship.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2732821463555100812.post-82531070962708136252009-11-20T18:18:59.806-05:002009-11-20T18:18:59.806-05:00I HAVE NOT YET BEGUN TO FIGHT.
